Police in Kuria have launched investigations into the death of a 19-year-old woman suspected to have ingested an insecticide at a rental house in Ikerege area, Kuria West Sub County.
According to the area county police commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, the deceased, Ms Zuema Tabu Chacha, who worked as a house help, was found lying unconscious on the floor by her employer.
“The young woman was rushed to a nearby hospital by her employer, but unfortunately she died at the hospital while undergoing treatment,” said Kimaiyo.
Adding that: “A team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations visited the scene and recovered a bottle of a known insecticide the deceased is suspected to have ingested.”
The body of the deceased has been moved to Kuria West sub county morgue pending autopsy as police continue with their investigations.
