An IED attack leaves three people injured in Mandera.
A vehicle carrying three Road construction company workers was hit by an explosive device on Thursday morning In Mandera country injured them instantly. According to the Police and survivors, the incident occurred at Dadach Qatarow which is located between Ires Kinto and Domog along Wargudud- Takaba road.
The victims who were attached to Frontier construction company were driving towards Wargudud- when the incident happened, they companied of injuries sustained in their legs and hands. The vehicle was set off a fire by the explosive which is believed to be the improvised explosive devise.
Police in the area has so far arrested no one in regards to the incident though the area is usually breached by Alshabaab terrorists. This is not the first time such incident happened, it was just last month when the perpetrators destroyed a communication mast using explosives. The terrorists have been targeting security installations in the area.
North Eastern police boss George Sedah said they had deployed additional personnel to pursue the gang operating in the area. Dozens of special forces are in the region stretching from Mandera to Lamu to help secure the border from incursions from the terrorists. Locals have also been called upon to help the security agencies in taming such attacks.
