Lokichogio Sub-County, a newly established administrative unit within Turkana County, has officially commenced operations, aligning with the government’s policy to improve service delivery and strengthen security in the region. According to the 2019 census, Lokichogio Sub-County is home to a population of 68,355 individuals. The creation of this sub-county is a strategic move to bring governance and public services closer to the people, ensuring their needs are met effectively and promptly.
Lokichogio Sub-County will be subdivided into four divisions, namely Nanam, Lokichogio, Songot, and Nadapal.
