The attributes of a failed state include poor infrastructure, poor education systems, luck of currency , poverty, insecurity disunity at central government, tribalism , no jobs and many others.Does it mean Kenya is a failed state ? Yes.
Kenyan government is quick to draw apologies to its citizens for its failures and shower praises for the great achievements without understanding less has been done in their regime despite the clock ticking towards the 9th aughust 2022 general election.Until when will Kenya live in illusions and imagineries?
For those blinded hear is the shocker. Those whom we have elacted are the ones who are now laundering money from us.A philosophical state by senior coucil Senator James Orengo “The government eats its own people be wise my friends”Are we fools or wise. Corruption and misuse of public resources is like assure bet.To make it worse the court systems only pile up the cases without no positive outcome. Some of these leaders who are reported in these manace are allowed to aspire for different post. This has made Kenyans suffer as they are subjected to poor governance.
Kenya is ranked at position 20 out of 178, only 16 points adrift of Somalia which tops the ranks of ignominy ahead of other failures like South Sudan and Central African Republic. This is due to increased insecurity levels that has stirred up Kenyans fear for their lives. The bandits attack in northern and eastern Kenya such as Turkana region Masarbit Samburu has led to lose of wealth , lives and economic empowerment in those areas.Despite the government trying there best to curb the status , no enough hasbe done to created a relief for the residents in those regions as the misconduct is politicized. Yet the statistics on the gunning down of street criminals, they are mute over the atrocities being committed against defenceless citizens who have the curse of finding themselves on the borders of Baringo and Turkana counties.
The ecomic inflation in the country has raised eyebrows among many Kenyan citizen. It has been claimed that the inflation has resulted from Ukrainian Russian war. This has been has opposed by the Kenyan citizens as they need the government to account for the use of public resources and loans that has been borrowed. It is true Kenya intensively depended on borrowing with shallow and unclear repayable terms that has left the taxpayers with headache. Thus , increasing tax levied on the citizens that has probably led to inflations. Monopolization of government tenders has greatly injected pain on our economy. Oil importation , gas and electricity supply has been subjected to few individuals that have turned to have goods retained in their wholesales and demanding for more money.
Utility of our resources and infrastructure has been poor. The industrialisation has been urbanised that has led to low utilisation of rural areas so as to create jobs for our people. The Kenyan state has centralised industries in urban that has increased production cost and even concentration of air pollution in one area. Thus the agricultural raw materials such as sisal , cotton, coffee go at a waste. The versed lands in semi Ari and arid regions go unutilised as result of poor government policies. .Implementation of government policies to adopt to better environmental practice such as irrigation, burning of importation of second hand vehicles protecting water sources such as Mau forest and planting of trees has failed.Hence, leading to climate change and environmental that has lead to poor agricultural production, low livestock production, loss of lives due to hunger and increase in poverty rate.
In addition , tribalism has led to disunity among Kenyans that has impacted negativily on national cohesion and peace.Lets be open minded.Kenyan politics is tribal based which is threat to our unity.Rememberbin 2007 post election violence one of the major reasons for the cause, was lack of national unity and cohesion.
It is awake up call for all Kenyans now to come to their senses and be cautious on the country’s status.
