KIBICHO has now given Kirinyaga county commissioner one month to get rid of hooliganism during campaigns failure to which he get dismissed from county security job.The PS accused governor Anne Waiguru anG MCA James Murango of hiring goons to heckle Martha Karua, who is the Azimio la Umoja coalition running mate during her campaigns in the region .
Speaking during a preser , Kibicho vocalised that Kirinyaga county should be role model in political arena as always been to major parts of central Kenya.”We cannot be silly and intolerant that people who come here for the campaign are greeted by hooligans and goons who cause havoc.The county commissioner take note of these hooligans, and if they are again seen in KIRINYAGA in a month or so, you will find other jobs,”Kibicho warned.
The Ps ordered the county commissioner to take quick action against the goons and gave a red light to the politicians advising them not to be parachial of their rivals.He also told Ann Waiguru, the area Governor that her recent campaigns are becoming unhealthy and would not be tolerated.
In addition, he stated that Matha Karua is a home grown of Kirinyagas daughter ,besises, being a national figure at all cost deserves mutual respect.This comes barely one week after Matha Karua was nominated as Raila’s running mate.As she was campaigning she boldly told her opponents that she doesn’t fear their humiliation.”No one will intimidate me by heckling me when I speak.Tell those politicians who paid you to come and take the mic out of my hand,”she said .She added that people do disagree without insults or heckling because after election they will still live with each other.Karua urged the natives of Kirinyaga not to allow themselves to be used by politician for unhealthy politics. “No matter where you stand , we can disagree without insults or heckling.Because after the elections , we still have to live with each other . Don’t let these politicians give you Ksh100 or 200 and tell you to come and heckle me .why didn’t she send his children? She posed.
The internal security cabinet secretary ,Dr Fred Okengo Matiangi promised IEBC and all participants of 9th Aughust 2022 general election high levels of security and order in every corner of the country.
